Oilers pound Blackhawks

Sam Gagner had eight points on four goals and four assists to lead the Edmonton Oilers past the Chicago Blackhawks 8-4.
The 22-year-old former first round pick equalled the Oilers' franchise record held by Wayne Gretzky and Paul Coffey in a career evening. Taylor Hall also scored and added three assists for Edmonton, who sent Chicago to their fourth consecutive loss.
The Detroit Red Wings moved six points clear of the Blackhawks in the Central division with a 4-3 shootout win over the Vancouver Canucks. Mason Raymond tied the game at three apiece with less than five minutes in regulation for the Northwest division leaders, but Roberto Luongo failed to stop either Pavel Datsyuk or Jiri Hudler in the shootout as the Red Wings picked up their ninth win in the last 10.
Two days after putting six past Columbus, the San Jose Sharks knocked five past Dallas in a 5-2 win over the Stars at the Shark Tank, while at the other end of the spectrum the Minnesota Wild had Niklas Backstrom to thank as the veteran Finnish netminder stopped 37 saves in a 1-0 shutout of the Colorado Avalanche.
Blackhawks are 601.00 to win the Stanley Cup while the Red Wings are 601.00 and the Canucks are 601.00.
