David Jones had two goals and an assist as the Colorado Avalanche cruised past the Chicago Blackhawks 5-2 at the Pepsi Center in Denver.
Chicago remains mired in sixth place in the Western Conference standings after the defeat, having let in at least three goals in their six consecutive losses.
The Blackhawks are 151.00 to win the Western Conference, with the Vancouver Canucks 151.00 and the Detroit Red Wings 151.00.
The Los Angeles Kings kept up the pressure on the idle San Jose Sharks after they travelled to Tampa Bay and beat the Lightning 3-1.
Steven Stamkos netted his league leading 35th goal in defeat for Tampa Bay, but it was the lone bright spark for the Lightning, who remain nine points out of a play-off spot in the East.
Keith Yandle, Radim Vrbata, Raffi Torres and Derek Morris all lit the lamp for the Coyotes as Phoenix went into Dallas and surprised the Stars 4-1 to win their third straight, while the Vancouver Canucks had to go to a shootout to prevail 4-3 over the Predators in Nashville.
