Carter snubbed by Hall of Fame

Cris Carter was once again snubbed by the Hall of Fame voters in their annual day before the Super Bowl announcement.
Carter who when he retired had the second most receptions in NFL history, since passed by Tony Gonzalez and Marvin Harrison, continues to be on the outside looking in along with Tim Brown and Andre Reed, two other receivers in the Top 10 of career receptions.
Instead the voters enshrined senior selection Jack Butler, Dermontti Dawson, Chris Doleman, Cortez Kennedy, Curtis Martin and Willie Roaf.
Martin, No. 4 on the career rushing list behind, Emmitt Smith, Walter Payton and Barry Sanders becomes the eighth running back in the top ten career list to make the Hall of Fame, with only Jerome Bettis, a finalist in the voting this year, and the still active LaDainian Tomlinson not already in Canton.
The former New York Jets and New England Patriot had hoped that his old coach Bill Parcells would also be enshrined, but the two-time Super Bowl winner with the New York Giants was passed over this year and instead will introduce Martin in the August ceremonies.
The Patriots are 1.68 to win the Super Bowl, with the Giants 2.25.
