Top ranked Kentucky blew out No. 8 Florida with a 78-58 victory at the Rupp Arena in Lexington on Tuesday evening.
Doron Lamb had 18 points and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist grabbed 13 rebounds and chipped in 13 points as the Wildcats moved to 10-0 in the SEC and 24-1 overall. Billy Donovan's Gators were thoroughly outplayed as Kentucky took a 12 point half-time lead and cruised to the 20-point win.
Not so the Ohio State Buckeyes who tuned up for Saturday's marquee Big Ten clash with Michigan State by edged Purdue 87-84 in Columbus. William Buford led all scorers with 29 points as the senior guard from Toledo was 10-of-17 from the field including 3-of-6 from beyond the arc and also hit all six free throw attempts.
In the only other Top 25 action on the slate, No. 17 Creighton were upset in Evansville as the Aces evened their record at 12-12 and 7-7 in the MVC with a 65-57 win. Doug McDermott led the Bluejays in defeat with 21 points, but saw little support from his teammates as Creighton fell to 21-4 on the year.
