The Boston Celtics powered their way to a 2-0 series lead at the Amway Arena, beating the Orlando Magic 95-92 on Tuesday night.
Paul Pierce scored 28 points with Rajon Rondo contributing 25 as the Celtics again avoided a late collapse to double their lead in the Eastern Conference finals.
The Boston win came against a Magic team that had won 14 straight games until this series.
Dwight Howard hit 30 points with Vince Carter and J.J. Redick scoring 16 apiece for the Magic, who overcame an 11-point deficit to take a brief lead in the fourth quarter.
However, they could not hold on despite Jameer Nelson's desperate attempt at a three-pointer right on the buzzer after Magic outscored their opponents by five in the final quarter.
Game three is on Saturday night in Boston.
Money Line: ORL Magic 2.35, BOS Celtics 1.64.
