Quade out in Chicago

Mike Quade has been axed as the Chicago Cubs' manager.Former Chicago Cubs legend Ryan Sandberg is not in the mix after Mike Quade was fired from his role as manager with the club.
President of baseball operations, Theo Epstein, made a call to Sandberg, the current manager of the Phillies Triple-A club, to inform him that he would not be considered shortly after the Cubs announced that Quade would not return.
Curiously Sandberg is in contention for the St Louis Cardinals' managerial role left vacant by the retirement of Tony La Russa. The sight of the Cubs' Hall of Famer managing their biggest divisional rivals would be tough to stomach for Chicago fans.
A former Minor League Manager of the Year on multiple occasions, the 54-year-old Quade leaves the Cubs after just over a year in charge of the club having moved from third base coach to replace Lou Piniella when the veteran manager retired suddenly in August 2010.
Chicago Cubs can be backed at 351.00 to win the 2012 World Series while the Cardinals are available at 16.00.
