Pujols powers Cardinals to victory

The St. Louis Cardinals, behind three home runs from Albert Pujols, demolished the Texas Rangers 16-7.

The Cardinals first baseman ended up 5-for-6 with four runs scored and six RBIs in a performance for the ages.
Allen Craig continued his storied World Series with a home run in the first to give St. Louis the initial lead before the Cardinals added four more driving Texas starter Matt Harrison (0-1) from the game.
The left hander allowed five runs, two of which were unearned, on six hits and a walk while striking out three over 3 2-3 innings.
Pujols would not go deep until the sixth inning with a three run shot off of reliever Alexi Ogando and then entered history with homers in the seventh and ninth to complete the rout.
Lance Lynn (1-0) picked up the win for St. Louis after Kyle Lohse and Fernando Salas had each conceded three runs as the Rangers rallied to close to two runs behind at 8-6, before Pujols entered World Series folklore.
With the victory the Cardinals move 2-1 up in the series with Game Four Saturday night in Arlington.
The Cardinals are 3.25 to win the World Series, with the Rangers 1.36.
