Los Angeles Dodgers to be sold

Multiple potential owner groups have expressed interest in buying the Los Angeles Dodgers after the club was put up for sale.
Former owner Peter O'Malley, controversial Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban and former Dodger stars Steve Garvey and Orel Hershiser are all said to be involved in bidding for the club. The Dodgers, 11.00 to win the 2012 World Series, are expected to be sold for $800million - $1billion after current owner Frank McCourt finally acknowledged the inevitable.
Garvey and Hershiser, a link to the team's more halcyon days, lead an investment group that has previously expressed interest in purchasing the team.
Cuban, considered by most to be too abrasive for the old-boy network of Major League owners, has previously failed in an attempt to purchase the Texas Rangers, 5.00 to win next year's World Series, although the suspicion remains that if the billionaire had succeeded it would be the world champion Rangers today.
Meanwhile, former owner O'Malley hopes to return as the team's chief executive by leading his own investment group.
