Epstein moves closer to Red Sox exit

Boston Red Sox general manager Theo Epstein edged closer to a move to the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday.
Hired by the Red Sox in 2002 as the youngest general manger in baseball history at the age of 28, Epstein has delivered two World Series victories to the faithful at Fenway Park including Boston's first in 86 years in 2004. While known to be close to Red Sox owner John Henry, Epstein has one year remaining on his current contract and the lure of reviving the Cubs franchise is expected to be an offer that the now 37-year old is unable to resist.
Currently owning the longest championship drought in all of sports, the Chicago Cubs last won the World Series in 1908 and while occasionally flattering to deceive, have usually been irrelevant before the All-Star break each season. Should Epstein move to the Windy City and bring a championship to the Cubs, his place in baseball history and the Hall of Fame would be assured.
Meanwhile, Texas Rangers are 1.80 to win the World Series while St Louis Cardinals are 2.05.
