Cubs, Cardinals and Red Sox still searching

The name of former Boston Red Sox manager Terry Francona has been added to the list of possibilities in the St. Louis Cardinals' managerial search.
The Cardinals, looking for a replacement for Tony La Russa, are expected to interview Hall of Fame second baseman Ryan Sandberg and current third base coach Jose Oquendo this week.
Sandberg, the former Chicago Cub, remains the most intriguing coaching prospect after earning his stripes in minor league management.
However, he was earlier ruled out of contention for the Chicago opening after Theo Epstein, the new president of baseball operations, announced the Cubs would only consider those with major league coaching experience.
Francona is expected to be in the mix in Chicago, as are Texas Rangers pitching coach Mike Maddox and Cleveland Indians bench coach Sandy Alomar Jr.
While Maddox removed himself from the Boston Red Sox search, citing family issues, Alomar Jr. will interview in Boston along with Tony Lovullo the first base coach of the Toronto Blue Jays and Gene Lamont the former Chicago White Sox and Pittsburgh Pirates manager who currently coaches third base for the Detroit Tigers.
Boston are 19.00 to win the 2012 World Series, with the Cubs 351.00 and the Cardinals 16.00.
