Wozniacki top seed at US Open

Caroline Wozniacki has been named as top seed for this year's US Open which begins at Flushing Meadows on Monday.

The Dane has never won a grand slam tournament, but reached the final last year, where she lost to Kim Clijsters, this year's second seed.

Venus Williams is the only seeded American in third, while the other previous winners in the draw, Svetlana Kuznetsova and Maria Sharapova, are 11th and 14th respectively.
