Federer through after 'perfect start'

Roger Federer is through to the third round of the US Open after another faultless match at Flushing Meadows.
Federer (2.10 to win outright) ensured that the sweltering heat in New York did not cause him any problems by securing victory in just one hour and 41 minutes.
He defeated Germany's Andreas Beck 6-3 6-4 6-3 on Arthur Ashe Stadium.
"It's the perfect start, sure," said Federer, who will now face France's Paul-Henri Mathieu in the third round. "I played Monday, had two days off. I had another easy one physically today and here I am in the third round feeling like I'm completely in the tournament.
"I got a sense for how the court speed is again. I got the sense of the crowd and the wind now as well. I played one night, one day. I have all the answers after two matches.
"Obviously they weren't the most difficult matches. I didn't have to save multiple break points or whatever. Even though I got broken today, I feel really good. Tougher matches will only be coming up now, I guess. I underestimate nobody.
"It's gonna be interesting to see how the Saturday conditions are going to be with the hurricane sort of moving in. We'll see how that goes."
Betting for the third round clash has Roger Federer fancied at 1.015 with Paul-Henri Mathieu 13.00. The Swiss is 1.25 to win the match 3-0.
Hurricane Earl is forecast to bring some rain on Friday after four days of high temperatures, but Federer can relax in the knowledge his bid to reach a seventh straight US Open final remains in calm waters.
Federer won the title five years in succession before losing to Argentina's Juan Martin Del Potro in last year's final. Del Potro has been unable to defend his title due to injury.
