Superb Selby outclasses Day

John Higgins won the tournament last year.Mark Selby cruised into the second round of the UK Championship with an easy 6-0 victory over Ryan Day at York's Barbican Centre.
Selby is the world number one, and will play either Stuart Bingham or Marco Fu in the second round.
Elsewhere, five-time champion Stephen Hendry slumped to a 6-3 defeat to Stephen Maguire, 2.75 to beat John Higgins in the second round. Higgins is 1.44 to win the contest.
The 42-year-old was level at 3-3 until Maguire took the initaive in the seventh frame by building a break of 134.

Defending champion Higgins was pushed all the way by Rory McLeod though, eventually clinching a 6-5 victory. The 36-year-old fell 4-2 behind but held his nerve to win the next three frames before winning the decider.
Two-time champion Ding Junhui fought back from 2-0 down to beat Mark Davis 6-5 while Graeme Dott defeated Matthew Selt 6-1 and Neil Robertson saw off Tom Ford by the same scoreline.
