Ronnie O'Sullivan is an icon in snooker, but he feels he could have achieved more.Snooker legend Ronnie O'Sullivan believes he could have picked up more titles over the course of his career.
O'Sullivan has managed to secure three world titles to date and 'The Rocket' believes he should have been able to chase down Stephen Hendry's record of seven world crowns.
The 35-year-old has 22 ranking titles in his collection, some distance behind the 36 Hendry managed to acquire and O'Sullivan feels that he has "underachieved".
"I could have had Hendry's records in sight," said O'Sullivan. "But I have had a lot of ups and downs.
"I suppose with the mindset I have had at times, I should be happy with what I've achieved."
He added: "I've won four UK titles, four Masters and three worlds, which is a good haul, but in my mind I have underachieved.
"I should have won two more world titles, two more Masters and maybe another UK Championship. I've been in nine Masters finals and I should have converted another couple of those."
O'Sullivan has admitted in the past that he has considered walking away from the sport altogether. However, he is now relishing an unfamiliar role as an underdog and O'Sullivan is ready to challenge for the big prizes with no pressure on his shoulders.
"I'm happy to be the underdog now," explained O'Sullivan. "Even though I would much rather be among the favourites and really fancying my chances.
"The other players have flown past me and rankings don't lie. I'm coming from a different place where I enjoy events and hope to nick a big scalp. There is no pressure on me to win."
'The Rocket' will take on veteran Steve Davis in the first round of the UK Championship in York in December. O'Sullivan is 1.11 to beat Davis, and 1213.00 to win the tournament outright.
O'Sullivan is 1.25 to secure a fourth world title at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield next year.
