Watkins' delight at new contract

Young Leeds Rhinos centre Kallum Watkins hopes to repay the club after signing a new five-year contract at Headingley.
Watkins missed the Rhinos' 2011 Grand Final victory over St Helens but, having been awarded the number three jersey for 2012, he says he's ready to bounce back this season and show Super League what he is capable of. The Rhinos are 17.00 to win the regular season in 2012 and are 7.50 to keep hold of their Grand Final trophy. They can be backed at 6.00 to triumph in the Challenge Cup.
"It is really exciting to be part of the Rhinos squad at present and I had no hesitation in signing a new contract with the club. We have got some fantastic, young players here and the club have made it clear that they want to build for the future," said Watkins, who had been previously been on the books at Salford as an Academy player.

"I was disappointed to miss out on the Grand Final last year but it has been a massive boost to my confidence to be awarded the number three shirt for this season. I have to make sure that I go out there week in, week out now and make sure that I do my best for the team."
The Rhinos open the new campaign with a home clash against Hull KR. The match is followed by a trip to face Wigan and the World Club Challenge showdown with NRL Premiers Manly Sea Eagles.
"We have got a tough start to the season but the feeling is great in the camp at the moment and things will move up a gear next week as we build up to the Hull KR game. And obviously everyone is excited about the World Club Challenge as well against Manly."
