An impressive 18-point haul by Jamie Foster inspired St Helens to a 34-24 victory over the London Broncos at the Stoop.
St Helens were inspired by Jamie Foster. The 21-year-old converted seven goals and scored a try for Royce Simmons' men as they came back from a 18-16 deficit at the break to begin their Super League campaign with a win.
Jonny Lomax, Andrew Dixon, Francis Meli and James Roby also crossed the whitewash for the Saints, as they fought off a spirited response from the Broncos who had responded through tries of their own from Michael Robertson, Olsi Krasniqi, Michael Witt and Chris Bailey.

Commenting after the game, Simmons admitted his men had a lot of work to do on the training ground.
"My word that was a hard one. We really had to pull things together at half-time and turn it around," said the Australian.
"I thought we were too safety-first at times and that allowed them to get numbers in the tackle area.
"There are definite areas we have to look at - our kicking game for one was not the greatest.
"I need to give the Broncos credit as they have a good pack of forwards and made it a real contest."
For Broncos coach Rob Powell it was a case of what could have been in a game he believed was there for the taking.
"I think that game was there for the winning and it is a real shame we did not pick up the win," said Powell.
"We gave as good as we got and I thought we looked the fitter side throughout.

I think that game was there for the winning.

"I don't think we committed suicide or anything like that - we just needed to make the most of the chances when they came our way.
"But there were a lot of positives out there and plenty for us to take forward."
Saints are rated as 7.50 to win the Grand Final this year, with champions Leeds 7.50 to retain the trophy.
