Having made a name for himself in the Championship, Widnes Vikings winger Paddy Flynn is relishing the opportunity to prove he can perform at the highest level.
The Vikings play their first game since their admission into Super League next Friday, when Wakefield Trinity Wildcats visit the Stobart Stadium.
And 24-year-old flyer Flynn is hoping to be selected in the squad for what will be a massive day in the club's history.

I really hope I'm picked next week and that I can cement a place for the season.

The Vikings are 2501.00 to win the Challenge Cup this year and 2501.00 to claim the Grand Final. They can also be backed at 751.00 to finish at the top of the regular season standings.
"I think I'm the longest-serving player here. A lot's changed since I made my debut in 2008 and a lot of new players have arrived at the club, particularly ahead of this season. But I really hope I'm picked next week and that I can cement a place for the season," said Flynn, who has been a prolific try-scorer for the Vikings in recent years.
"There are no easy matches in Super League but it's great that we've been given a home draw for our first match. Wakefield will throw everything at us and we'll throw everything at them, but I think whoever can complete their sets and finish off their chances will win."
The Vikings have recruited almost an entire squad's worth of new players ahead of the new campaign, and Flynn says that the experience of players like Shaun Briscoe and Jon Clarke will be invaluable.
"The Super League lads who've come here have really added an extra element to our training sessions and preparation. We already had the talent and potential I feel, but there's no replacement for experience and it's a quality we'll need in 2012," he added.
