Clubb - Gower will be great captain

Craig Gower has been selected as the first ever captain of the newly re-branded London Broncos, and his team-mate Tony Clubb believes it's the perfect appointment.
Clubb, who is among the longest-serving players currently with Super League's club in the capital, will be available for selection ahead of the Broncos' opening round fixture against St Helens on Saturday. The Broncos are 4.50 to win the clash, while Saints are at 1.20. The tie is available at 26.00.

Craig's a great choice for captain.

And he believes that Australian dual-coder Gower is capable of guiding the team to a strong start to the campaign.
"Craig's a great choice for captain. He's got all the experience in the world and is a top-quality player too. He's been a big presence at training since he arrived and to me he seemed like a natural choice for the role," said Clubb, who was capped for England at the 2010 Four Nations.
"We couldn't really have asked for a tougher start to the season. Saints are a lot of people's favourites to win the Grand Final this year and it's easy to see why. Then we've got Hull FC and Warrington who are expected to be up there as well," he added, looking ahead to the Broncos' tough start to Super League in 2012.
"But you've got to play all of these teams at one time or another and the beginning of the season is as good a time as any. A lot of people won't rate our chances of winning but we thrive on that and always love proving people wrong."
