Cronulla's previously-troubled star Todd Carney has realised that it is his last NRL chance and so he has vowed to just concentrate on his play and nothing else.
Todd Carney is vowing to make the most of his opportunity at Cronulla. The Sharks are scheduled to play Manly on Friday at Shark Park and Carney is in line to make his debut for his new club in that game.
The 25-year old playmaker has a long history of off-field problems and one of those incidents became the cause of his departure from former club Sydney Roosters last year.
Not many wanted to take a chance on him considering his tainted disciplinary record, but the Sharks decided to take the gamble by signing him and he wants to repay the club's faith in him.
In his first ever official interview as a Shark, Carney said: "I'm feeling really good, I've settled into the place really well. It didn't end great (at the Roosters) but I'm here at the Sharks now and that's what I'm looking forward to."
"Hopefully I can bring some different attack to the Sharks, but it's going to be a team effort and that's the way we're going to play, as a team, and I think we should go alright. I just want to play some good football and get the Sharks back to where we know we can be and am looking forward to (playing) football," he added.
Cronulla are 15.00 to win the 2012 NRL Grand Final. Manly Sea Eagles can be backed at odds of 5.50, while Wests Tigers are available at 11.00.
