Hughes set for Theology ride in St Leger

Jeremy Noseda has moved swiftly to book the mount of Richard Hughes for Theology in Saturday's Ladbrokes St Leger at Doncaster.
The trainer knew he had to be quick as the Irish jockey had been in the frame to pick up the spare ride on Snow Fairy should Ryan Moore be required for Total Command. Hughes had previously ridden the English and Irish Oaks winner in Moore's absence in the Yorkshire equivalent.
But Noseda has moved for Hughes for Theology, 34.00 to win the oldest Classic in the world, and believes there are positive signs for the horse who was second in the Queen's Vase before finishing sixth behind former stablemate Rebel Soldier in the Gordon Stakes.
"Richard Hughes will ride him," the trainer told www.jeremynoseda.com.
There is no doubt that we have a lot to find in what looks to be a rock-solid Leger, however, I do feel that he is a progressive horse.
"He will handle the cut in the ground and there are definitely reasons to forgive his last run at Goodwood. He is guaranteed to relish the trip."
Despite the positive booking of Hughes, Theology could be up against it with some high class horses looking to land the top prize.
