Fahey concerned over Haydock ground

Richard Fahey admits the expected quick conditions are a concern ahead of Porgy's run in the Betfred Kingspin Old Borough Cup at Haydock on Saturday.
The five-year-old took a big step forward from winning a York claimer to finishing an excellent fourth in another competitive handicap at Haydock a month ago.
Conditions were very different that day, however, and that is giving Fahey cause for concern.
"He ran a good race at Haydock last time but it was soft ground and the softer the better for him really," said Fahey.
"He's a hardy horse but the ground is going to be quick this weekend, which is a bit of a worry I'm afraid."
Fahey's Cosmic Sun is first reserve for the same race and the trainer has been perplexed by his disappointing recent form.
"Cosmic Sun is a reserve so he's not sure to get in anyway, but he's been a bit disappointing," the trainer added.
"He's coming down the weights but it's not really his mark that's the problem, he's just not performing at all and I don't really know why.
"We're happy with him at home but he's not doing it on the track so we've stuck cheekpieces on him and maybe that might help him."
A maximum field of 17 are set to go to post, with Cosmic Sun and Dazzling Light the two reserves.
