Novak Djokovic retained his Australian Open title on Sunday and cost bet365 a hefty sum.
bet365 spokesman Steve Freeth said: “Our ante-post book was all about Djokovic and his victory has been very, very expensive for us.
“The final was an unbelievable betting heat, but going over 3.5 sets and 39.5 games hardly helped either!”
The super Serb is 15/2 (opened 28/1) to win all four slams during the year and bet365 go 25/1 about Djokovic and Nadal contesting all four Grand Slam finals in 2012.
Andy Murray is 11/4 to win a Slam in 2012 and 11/10 to reach a major final.
