Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has praised world champion Sebastian Vettel for the way he reacted to retiring from the early stages of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix last weekend.
Red Bull boss Christian Horner was full of praise for Sebastian Vettel. The German's race on Sunday was over on lap one when he suffered a punctured tyre which forced him to retire, as McLaren's Lewis Hamilton went on to take the chequered flag.
However despite the disappointment on missing out on another win, Vettel stayed with the team to help his Red Bull partner Mark Webber, who managed to finish in four place in Abu Dhabi.
Horner has praised Vettel for his actions following his first lap exit.
He said: "Of course he was disappointed, but he didn't rush to leave the circuit. He decided to hang around to help the team.
"So he joined us on the pitwall to try and offer us the benefit of his experience, what he would be feeling, to help Mark's strategy, and for him to get the best result possible.
"What he did is part of who he is. He's like a sponge for information and it also demonstrates what a team player he is."
Vettel is 1.57 to end an amazing season with victory at the Brazilian Grand Prix on Sunday 27th November, with Webber 6.50 and Hamilton 7.00.
