Daniel Ricciardo has backed his new Toro Rosso team-mate Jean-Eric Vergne to be a big hit in 2012.
Frenchman Vergne and Ricciardo raced together in the Renault 3.5 series and will now be spurring each other on in F1 next year. Toro Rosso have decided to use a completely new line-up in 2012 having parted company with Sebastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari.

Ricciardo said of Vergne: "He's got potential and he's quick. We drive quite similar but he has probably what I don't have in the aggressive side. So maybe I can learn from him. In the junior categories that was his style.
"I know I've got it but it's probably not consistent enough and at Formula One now it has to be as good as it can be. I think my actual starts are okay, the initial reaction off the line is fine. But a few times this year I got a good start but maybe didn't go hard enough into the first corner or went for the safer inside line.
"I probably need a little bit more aggression which I guess will come with experience at this level."
Australian 22-year-old Ricciardo took part in 11 races for Hispania in 2011 with his best finish being 18th at both Hungary and India.
Sebastian Vettel is 3.75 to win the 2012 drivers' title while Fernando Alonso can be backed at 4.50, Lewis Hamilton at 3.75 and Jenson Button at 8.00.
