Thomas Bjorn insists that he has put any thoughts about qualifying for Europe's Ryder Cup team this year to the back of his mind for now.
In-form Thomas Bjorn is in contention for a Ryder Cup spot. The Dane has not played in the event since helping Europe regain the trophy in 2002, but is in the running to appear at Medinah in September after playing some of his finest golf ever in the last 12 months.
Bjorn won three tournaments in 2011, while a solid start to the 2012 season sees him currently lie in tenth place in the Race to Dubai standings.
The 40-year-old finished joint-third in the strongest field of the year at the recent Abu Dhabi Championship, but Bjorn says the Ryder Cup is of little interest to him at this stage of the season.
He said: "It's not right at the forefront of my mind right now. I'm actually at a point in my career where I'm enjoying playing my golf and I obviously go into every event trying to win it.
"But, that doesn't always happen, so you've just got to try and enjoy it, make the most of every event you play in and - if you make the team - you do."
Europe are 2.00 to win the Ryder Cup match against the United States, with the hosts 2.00 to win back the trophy with a victory of their own, while the tie is 12.00.

It's not right at the forefront of my mind right now.
Thomas Bjorn
Bjorn's fantastic run in the last year has taken him up to 28th place in the world rankings and guaranteed him entry into all of golf's big tournaments in 2012.
Bjorn knows that he faces a battle on his hands to qualify for Jose Maria Olazabal's team with the world's top-four ranked players currently European, but believes Europe will be difficult to beat - whoever ends up playing.
He added: "With the Ryder Cup ten years ago, you had to play good golf to make the European team. Now though, you have to play great golf and that doesn't come around every season.
"But, if you can maintain a good level of results and put in some really strong performances in the big events, that's what it takes.
"The good thing about European golf at the moment is that no matter who goes, there's going to be 12 great guys going and they'll do their utmost to win the trophy back."
