Rio Ferdinand wants Europa League trophy. The Red Devils suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of FC Basel on Wednesday night which brought their journey in the Champions League to a premature end.
Having finished in third place in Group C the Premier League champions, who are 7.50 to retain their domestic title, now find themselves in the Europa League alongside rivals Manchester City.
Ferdinand believes United, who are 1213.00 to win the Europa League, will not be taking the second tier European competition lightly, as they look to challenge for silverware this season.
The England centre-back told MUTV: "We're in the Europa League now and I've always said that whatever competition we're in we don't enter it to come second or to get knocked out in the early stages.
"We're always in it to win it and this is no different."
