Rangers boss Ally McCoist may be set to bring Kris Boyd back to the club after the striker left Turkish outfit Eskisehirspor.
Nikica Jelavic has been linked with a move away from Rangers.Boyd became the SPL's leading all-time scorer after netting 127 times for Rangers between 2006 and 2010. The Scotland international moved to Middlesbrough in 2010, making 29 appearances, and was loaned out to Nottingham Forest last season. He made the move to Turkey in the summer but ripped up his contract after a dispute over unpaid wages and is now available as a free agent.
McCoist has admitted his side needs strengthening up front with Kane Hemmings ruled out until next month and Kyle Lafferty struggling to shake off injury, while Nikica Jelavic's future is unclear. However, he insists there has not been any contact with the Boyd camp.

I'm in absolutely no position to rule anybody out.

"We've not heard anything. I'm in absolutely no position to rule anybody out. Unfortunately I'm in no position to count anybody in," said McCoist.
"All I would say is I'm definitely short on forward areas. Although I can't say there is definite interest, it's certainly an area we need strengthening in."
Rangers are four points ahead of rivals Celtic in the SPL table and are now 11.00 to retain their league title. They travel to St Mirren on Christmas Eve and are 9.50 to win 3-0 and 1.90 to keep a clean sheet.
