Lennon - Title race not over yet
December 29, 2011 16:15:15 UK
Celtic manager Neil Lennon expects more drama in the SPL title race after seeing his side leapfrog Rangers to go two points clear at the top of the table.
Joe Ledley's header was enough to settle the match. The Hoops defeated their Glasgow rivals 1-0 on Wednesday night, their ninth consecutive league victory, and are now 1.04 to be crowned SPL champions. Joe Ledley headed the home side in front in the second half and that was enough to ensure Lennon's men go into 2012 top of the pile.
The Celtic boss was delighted by the performance of his whole team but is taking nothing for granted just yet.
He said: "I always believed. It's come quicker than we expected obviously, but that's the consistency that this team has put together and we knew that Rangers couldn't keep their form up from the start of the season.
"At the moment we're in a good place, but this changes nothing - all it does is psychologically give us a lift going into the New Year."

He added: "I thought the difference between the two teams at Ibrox in the second half was that Rangers wanted it more than us and I didn't want that to happen again.
"To be fair to the players they've galvanised themselves over the last couple of months, we're looking a good team and I think the European games have been a huge help in terms of this team growing."
Rangers can now be backed at 11.00 to retain their title.
