Celtic have been hit by the news that Beram Kayal has been ruled out for the remainder of the season following surgery on an ankle injury.
Celtic's Beram Kayal will miss the rest of the season after ankle surgery.Hoops' boss Neil Lennon feared last week that the Israel international would be facing a spell on the sidelines after suffering the injury during a challenge with Rangers midfielder Lee McCulloch in their Old Firm victory on December 28.
Celtic have now confirmed that Kayal will be missing for at least four months following surgery on Monday evening which means he will be sorely missed as the club are 1.04 to wrestle the Scottish Premier League title away from Rangers and 1213.00 to retain the Scottish Cup.

On the absence of Kayal, who has been a big player for Celtic since signing from Maccabi Haifa in the summer of 2010, Lennon told the club's website: "He will definitely be a big loss for us, but more importantly we are disappointed for him to be missing such a large part of the season at a time when he was playing so well.
"Clearly his health and fitness is now our priority and we will be making sure he gets our total support during the coming period."
