Hibs axe falls on Calderwood

Struggling Hibernian have parted company with Colin Calderwood in the wake of Saturday's grim 1-0 home defeat to Dunfermline.
It was the final straw for the Easter Road board who opted to sack the 46-year-old Calderwood who had only been in charge of the club for just over 12 months.
The result left Hibs ninth in the SPL table, just a point above rock-bottom Inverness Caledonian Thistle, who are 5001.00 to be relegated. Hibs can be backed at 21.00 to finish at the foot of the table, while Aberdeen are 5001.00 and Dunfermline 1.015.
Calderwood managed just 12 wins in his 49 matches at the helm of the Scottish Premier League outfit. He had been Chris Hughton's assistant at Newcastle United before joining Hibs on a three-year contract in October 2010.
The former Scotland international defender started his managerial career at Northampton Town in 2003 before spending two years in charge of Nottingham Forest.

Calderwood had said after the weekend loss to the Pars: "It's a shocking result for us and we take the blame for it.
"We played below par as a team and too many individuals played nowhere near it."
