Newcastle United could be without striker Leon Best for up to six weeks after he limped off with a knee injury in Sunday's 2-1 win over Aston Villa.
Leon Best has done well while Demba Ba was away. The Republic of Ireland international, who went off after a challenge from Stephen Warnock, will go for a scan on Tuesday to discover the extent of the injury and find out how long it will keep him out for.
Magpies manager Alan Pardew is not optimistic of Best returning quickly and said: "Leon has got a medial ligament injury, which is usually a six-week lay-off."
Ryan Taylor also had to be substituted early on against Villa after being stretchered off having played a big part in Demba Ba's opener.
Pardew is more optimistic on Taylor's injury saying he only has a "big swelling on his leg" and added: "The good news for Ryan Taylor is that there is no break or fracture, so we think he's going to be OK."
Despite losing Best to injury, Pardew still has plenty of attacking options, with Best's replacement Papis Demba Cisse scoring a stunning debut goal and Ba carrying off where he left off after returning from the African Cup of Nations.
Newcastle will be hoping the two Senegalese front-men are still in-form as they travel to White Hart Lane on Saturday to face title chasing Spurs.
Newcastle, who are chasing a top four finish, are 6.00 to win, with third-placed Spurs 1.53 and the draw 4.20.
Demba Ba is 8.50 to score first while team-mate Cisse 12.00 to repeat his feat from Sunday.
