Garcia plays down Ligue 1 title talk

Lille boss Rudi Garcia remains focused on his original aims for this season, insisting his goals have not changed despite the club moving to the top of the Ligue 1 standings.
A 2-1 win home victory over Monaco on Sunday, courtesy of goals from Pierre-Alan Frau and Ludovic Obraniak, saw Lille climb above Montpellier on goal difference.
Garcia hailed the performance of his players following the win, but does not believe they can be considered serious title challengers with the likes of Marseille and Lyon just two points adrift.
Betting to win the France Le Championnat 2010/11 outright has Lille at 1.03, with Marseille 11.00 and Lyon 1213.00.
"I liked the way my team played," Garcia said on www.losc.fr. "It was a group victory.
"We also like being in first place but I know there are seven or eight teams separated by two points and everything can change so quickly in the coming weeks.
"For now, we are happy to have extended our run with a third successive win - a first for us this season. It keeps up our aim, namely finishing in the top five.
"We will do everything we can to keep that run going, although we face a tricky challenge in Bordeaux (on Saturday).
"As for the title, we lost to Marseille and Lyon, two of the main title contenders.
"So I remind you of what I said after the Marseille match - we can perhaps discuss it once we've seen how results have gone in the second half of the season."
