David Beckham says he is "passionate" about playing for LA Galaxy after signing a two-year contract with the MLS club.
The 36-year-old's previous deal with the MLS Cup winners had expired in December and he was linked with a move to a number of other clubs, most notably Paris Saint Germain, but has opted to stay in the United States.

I'm still passionate about playing in America and winning trophies with the Galaxy.

It now seems certain the former England captain will end his career in California, having joined the Galaxy in 2007, and he says he is committed to helping grow his beloved sport in the US.
He said in a statement: "This was an important decision for me.
"I had many offers from clubs from around the world, however, I'm still passionate about playing in America and winning trophies with the Galaxy.''
A move to Europe had been mooted as Beckham's desire to remain available for England as Euro 2012 approaches is well known, as well as his hope of featuring for Great Britain the Olympics. However, his decision to commit himself to the Galaxy until at least 2014 has been welcomed by their delighted head coach Bruce Arena.
"I felt that he was one of the best players in all of MLS last season and we could not have achieved the success that we did without him," said Arena.
"We look forward to trying to replicate that success this season with David once again in a Galaxy uniform.''
With or without Beckham, England are 11.00 to win Euro 2012 while Spain are 3.75 and Germany are 4.00.
