Jonny Evans insists Manchester United will be taking their Carling Cup quarter-final with Crystal Palace even more seriously than previous years.
Sir Alex Ferguson has named strong sides in the Carling Cup this season. The defender concedes that the competition has long been seen as a platform for Sir Alex Ferguson to blood some of his younger players.
However, this season has seen the Old Trafford chief select more established first-teamers against the likes of Leeds United and Aldershot Town in the last two rounds.
United are 5.50 to beat Palace 2-0 on Wednesday and 101.00 to go on and win the competition. Meanwhile, Evans is 41.00 to score the opening goal while the Championship side are 13.00 to cause a shock and win through to the semi-finals.

No matter what people might say about it, this is an important competition for us.

United could give exciting French midfield starlet Paul Pogba a first-team debut, but the signs are ominous for the Eagles, according to Evans.
The Northern Ireland defender says: "The way the injuries started for us this season, there were a lot to the senior players, and the young lads played a lot in the Premier League games.
"Because of that, the older players have had to play in the Carling Cup to get game-time so it has all changed around a bit. It has been kind of strange this season.
"I'm hoping to be involved against Palace and the Carling Cup has been good to me. It was my first domestic trophy after I came back from Sunderland on loan when we beat Spurs at Wembley in a penalty-shoot out in 2009.
"Twelve months later, I was in the side that beat Aston Villa in the cup. No matter what people might say about it, this is an important competition for us."
