Guardiola keeps short-term focus

Barcelona head coach Pep Guardiola says he is more than happy to work with only a short-term contract in place with the European and Spanish champions.

The 40-year-old former Barca midfielder's current deal runs out next summer, but Guardiola has no desire to commit to a long-term deal at the Camp Nou.
He told Sport: "When you manage something, you have to always think that tomorrow you could go.
"I work better if I think I have the freedom to decide my future. Being tied to a contract for a long time makes me anxious and that can make you lose your passion.
"In my profession you have to make decisions depending on what is happening.
"There will be a day when I no longer feel like being with my players, just as they will not feel like being with me and at that moment I will have to go find others to make those plans for the future."
Barca are 1213.00 to retain their Champions League crown and 34.00 to finish top of La Liga for the fourth season in a row.
Elsewhere, Villarreal president Fernando Roig remains fully supportive of head coach Juan Carlos Garrido, despite the Yellow Submarine having taken just six points from their first six league games.
Roig told AS: "We have the best coach for this team. Garrido is a great coach and a club man. Last season was spectacular and this year will not be any less so, things are not as bad as some are suggesting."
Meanwhile, Joaquin Caparros is determined to make the most of the opportunity to coach Real Mallorca, following the recent departure of Michael Laudrup.
Caparros, who has been placed in charge until the end of the season, told AS: "Going forward, collective effort and unity is a must to win in this league.
"I come with a lot of hope. It's a nice challenge."
