Fabregas set for short lay-off

Spain international Cesc Fabregas has been added to Barcelona's lengthy injury list after picking up a leg problem.

Cesc Fabregas has made an excellent start to his time with Barcelona.

The former Arsenal midfielder sustained a muscle problem in his right thigh during training on Saturday and will miss the La Liga clash against Sporting Gijon, which Barca are 6.50 to win 3-0.

Andres Iniesta and Chile international Alexis Sanchez are already in the Camp Nou treatment room, both with a torn leg muscle.

Fabregas helped Pep Guardiola's side win the Spanish Supercup, when they beat Real Madrid over two legs, and the UEFA Super Cup, with a 2-0 win against FC Porto, in August.
 
The 24-year-old has made seven appearances for Barca, scoring four goals.
