Diarra opts to stay in Madrid

Tottenham target Lassana Diarra insists he has no desire to leave Real Madrid before his contract expires in two years' time.

Roma were also interested in a player who has not featured in Jose Mourinho's first-team plans so far this season.
However, the former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder said: "I am a Madrid player and I intend to stay here until the finish of my contract.
"I have a contract with Madrid until 2013 and would like to fulfill that commitment. My goal now is to earn a starting place, and I am working hard for that."

Diarra scored once in 24 league appearances for Pompey before moving to Real in a £20million deal in January 2009.
