David Sullivan says he will be strengthening the West Ham squad in January as Sunday's defeat to Derby saw the Hammers drop out of the automatic promotion places.
Sam Allardyce is looking to boost his squad in the transfer window. The West Ham co-chairman insists manager Sam Allardyce will have the full backing of the board as they look to boost a squad decimated by injury and suspension. The London side, who are 1.50 to be promoted, have been linked with moves for Huddersfield's prolific striker Jordan Rhodes and Cardiff's Peter Whittingham as they aim to add to their forward line.
"It is transfer window time again and, once more, my friend and partner David Gold and I will do all within our power to make funds available to improve the squad," Sullivan told the club's official website.

If we can sign players who we feel will improve the team, we will.

"If we can sign players who we feel will improve the team, we will. Already we have made bids for three players that the manager has identified. However, it is not easy to try to acquire key players that other clubs don't want to lose.
"Rest assured, though, I will be working 24/7 throughout the month of January to do the business we need."
The Hammers have the ideal chance to get their season back on track against lowly Coventry on Monday and are 9.50 to record a 3-0 win. A 2-2 draw can be backed at 17.00.
