Doncaster Rovers striker Bill Sharp has rejected a move to Leicester City. The 25-year-old frontman has netted ten goals for Rovers this season, but had been expected to leave the Keepmoat Stadium in January, with the Foxes eager to bolster their strikeforce.
However, Doncaster boss Dean Saunders is now hopeful of keeping Sharp for the next few months, with Rovers battling to avoid relegation to League One.
"As far as I know Billy will be staying with us until the end of the season," Saunders said after a goalless draw at Cardiff City on Saturday.
"If he can win us six or seven games between now and the end of the season, it's worth millions to the club.
"We've tried everything to make him stay and I'm pleased he is staying. He's indicated to me he's not going to Leicester, but somebody else might come knocking."
Rovers are currently three points from safety, with their next game a crunch clash with fellow strugglers Bristol City at Ashton Gate next Saturday.
The Robins are 1.90 to make home advantage count and take all three points, while the draw is 3.30.
