West Ham boss Sam Allardyce says his side's performance against Portsmouth underlined the club's need to bring in another striker.
Sam Allardyce wants the Hammers to be more clinical in front of goal. The Hammers won 1-0 at Fratton Park to move level on points with Southampton at the top of the Championship table. They are 1.50 to be promoted while the Saints are at 1.083. Allardyce's men can be backed at 201.00 to go up as champions.
However, Allardyce was unhappy to see his side score just once against Pompey despite dominating the game after the home side had David Norris sent off. The goal came from a Mark Noble penalty and Allardyce believed his side should have won more convincingly.
"I am looking for another striker because from the chances we created we have not been clinical enough and that has been a problem," he said.

"The good thing is we have one of the best defensive records in the league and that is a positive for us and means we will always be up where we want to be."
Meanwhile, Portsmouth manager Michael Appleton was unhappy with the referee Kevin Friend, believing Norris should not have been sent off and the penalty should not have awarded.
He said: "You need the referee to be strong and I do not think he was. I felt some of the West Ham players were having an influence on his decisions."
