Sky Blues CEO issues emotional rallying cry

Since the news of Sydney FC coach Vietzslav Lavicka's imminent departure was made public, the club's playing members have been coming forward to praise the contribution of their Czech boss.
While their words have been glorious, their performances on the football field are not and that has forced the Sky Blues chief executive Dirk Melton to come forward and urge the players to back up their verbal respect for their departing manager by giving him a winning send-off.
Sydney FC are 2.37 to defeat Perth Glory, who themselves are 2.90 to get the win. A draw between the two sides can be backed at 3.40.
Sydney got hammered 5-2 in their last game against Newcastle Jets at the SFS and while Melton didn't share his views on the players' woeful defensive performance on the night, he did say that Lavicka deserved better.
The Sky Blues supremo has now challenged the playing squad to step up and perform much better in what could very well be the last seven games of Lavicka's reign.
In an interview with Sportal, Lavicka said: "I support the boys (but) they've got to look internally and find what each of their intrinsic motivators are and tap into it quickly. You never want to lose any games at home but the boys have got four home games to go and there's a lot to play for."
"There's a finals spot, there's the coach leaving who they all care for greatly and there's uncontracted players. There isn't anything the CEO should need to say to motivate professional athletes to get the job done over the next seven weeks."
