Dodd warns against taking Sky Blues lightly

Perth Glory winger Travis Dodd has warned his team-mates not to relax against Sydney FC this weekend.
Their struggling opponents will be determined to bounce back from their recent 5-2 mauling at the hands of Newcastle Jets.

I think they are better than their ladder position suggests.

Sydney are in a horrific slump at the moment and if they lose to high-flying Glory on Saturday, then it could prove to be a potentially fatal blow to their already flailing hopes of qualifying for the A-League play-offs.
The Sky Blues haven't tasted a league win in any of their last nine matches and the confidence in their camp appears to be at an all-time low due to the thrashing by the Jets.
Both their manager Vitezslav Lavicka and their chief executive Dirk Melton have criticised the playing squad, who are now under intense pressure to turn around their season.
Dodd believes that pressure from their management and the desire to give their outgoing manager a proper send-off could extract a positive performance from the Sky Blues next weekend, which is why the Glory should be wary of them.
"I think they are better than their ladder position suggests. They're under a bit of pressure at the moment with the announcement with the coaching for next year and the result last weekend so I expect them to come out and be solid," Dodd said.
"They certainly won't want to put in a performance two weeks in a row like that. They've been questioned by the CEO about their commitment and their passion, so we can certainly expect them to be a different proposition this week."
The Glory are 2.90 to see off Sydney, with the draw 3.40.
