England Twenty20 captain Paul Collingwood has spoken of his delight that Kevin Pietersen is back in the runs following a first century for Surrey.
Pietersen salutes the Surrey faithful after hitting an impressive century.Pietersen was left out of England's squads for two Twenty20 matches and a one-day series against Pakistan this month.
England, minus Pietersen, were victorious in yesterday's Twenty20 opener by five wickets in Cardiff after an unbroken sixth-wicket stand of 67 between Eoin Morgan and Michael Yardy saw them home with 17 balls to spare.
"I understand the bigger picture in terms of KP going away and getting into some form, and that's exactly what he's done," said Collingwood.
"He's already scored a hundred (for Surrey), so we are all delighted for him that he's gone away and scored those runs so far.
"I think with the big winter we've got coming up (in Australia), you understand these kind of decisions."
Betting for the next Twenty20 international has England at 1.44 to win the match on Tuesday, with Pakistan available at 2.75.
Kevin Pietersen is currently 41.00 to be England's Top Team Batsman against Australia in the Ashes Series 2010/11.
