Wicketkeeper Luke Sutton has returned to Derbyshire after his departure from Lancashire.
The 33-year-old is a former captain at the County Ground but has spent the last five seasons at Old Trafford where he scored 2,682 runs at an average of 33.11, as well as claiming 227 catches and 15 stumpings.
Sutton began his career at Somerset before enjoying six seasons with Derbyshire from 2000 to 2005.
"Derbyshire County Cricket Club has played a huge part in my life and I am delighted to come back," Sutton said.
"I came here as a young cricketer, developed quickly during my first stint here, captained the club and I left with nothing but very warm feelings.
"I always had half an eye on wanting to come back and it is very pleasing that it has actually happened."
