Paul Franks' career as a Nottinghamshire cricketer has been extended until the end of the 2013 season after the experienced all-rounder signed a new contract at Trent Bridge.
The 32-year-old admits that last season was a little frustrating from a personal point of view and is hoping to rectify that next year.

I am proud to play for Nottinghamshire and I hope to continue to play my part for a good number of years.

"I was a bit disappointed with my Championship form at times last season as I felt there were games where I bowled without reward and there were others where I could not find the form of 2010," he said.
The Nottinghamshire stalwart added the side were "dynamic" in the 20-over competition and solid in the 40-over but will be looking for improvement in the Championship. Nottinghamshire can be backed at 4.00 to win the County Championship Division 1 in 2012 while Durham are 15.00 and Lancashire are 17.00.
The county have lost three senior players in Ali Brown and Mark Wagh, who have left the game, and Charlie Shreck who has joined Kent. However, they have acquired Michael Lumb from Hampshire who should solve their problem opening bastman slot.
Franks says the players in the squad, including himself, need to find a little more to compensate for the departures.
"I have a responsibility to try and pass knowledge on to younger players but my desire to make a contribution to a successful side remains the same," he added. "I am proud to play for Nottinghamshire and I hope to continue to play my part for a good number of years."
