North backs Marsh's domestic move

Former Australia star Marcus North believes that axed Test batsman Shaun Marsh's return to domestic cricket will enable him to get his form back on track.

There's nowhere to hide when you're struggling and you're playing for Australia.

After enduring a poor summer at international level, Marsh was dropped by the Australian selectors and he is now all set to play in his state side Western Australia's upcoming clash with Queensland Bulls.
Marsh, who is the son of former Australia opening batsman Geoff Marsh, was able to score a grand total of just 17 runs in four Tests against India and he is now a prime candidate for axing from the Baggy Greens squad too.
He has returned to play domestic cricket and North, who found himself in a similar position last year after a disastrous Ashes series, says going back to basics is just the right option at this time for Marsh.
"There's no hiding the fact that he's in a bit of a horrible run and he's out of confidence and out of form, but I think it's a great move by Cricket Australia to get him back into first-class cricket," North said.
"The West Indies tour isn't too far away and there's no better chance to come back to WA, perform well and confirm to those selectors that he's ready.
He further added: "I've got a lot of confidence that over the next couple of weeks for WA he's going to find that form, it's not too far away.
"There's nowhere to hide when you're struggling and you're playing for Australia. He'll find it a bit of a relief when he gets up to Brisbane."
Australia are 3.75 to take back the Ashes next year by winning the series in England, with the hosts 5.50 to retain the little urn with a drawn series.
