Mayweather to challenge Cotto

Floyd Mayweather's promoters have confirmed he will take on Miguel Cotto for the WBA light-middleweight title in Las Vegas on 5th May.
Miguel Cotto is relshing taking on Floyd Mayweather.It had been hoped Mayweather would next fight Manny Pacquiao, but the old adversaries may face each other later this year, with Mayweather due to serve a prison sentence after he has taken on Cotto.
The fight means a step up in weight for Mayweather, who last fought at that weight in a controversial win over Oscar De La Hoya in 2007. He can be backed at 1.12 to win, while Cotto is at 6.00.
"Miguel Cotto is a world-class fighter who can never be taken for granted and continues to prove he is one of the best in boxing," said Mayweather, who boasts an unbeaten 42-fight record.

"It will be a challenge for me to compete with him at this weight, but this is the type of test I thrive on and gives me the motivation to train even harder. I have no doubt in my mind that my title belt collection will increase once again."
Cotto last fought in December, when he stopped Antonio Margarito, and is confident he can defeat Mayweather.
"I am here to fight the biggest names in boxing," he said.
"I've never ducked anyone or any challenge in front of me. That is what the sport of boxing is all about. On May 5 I will convincingly beat Floyd Mayweather."
