The fight was Groves' first since his victory over James DeGale in May and he seems certain to move on up to bigger things after such an impressive win over former British champion Smith.
"I want to chip up that ladder towards world titles but I need to make more improvements," said the Hammersmith fighter.
"I would like to think I can go all the way to be a great fighter. I plan to get to the top and stay at the top.

"I'm fortunate enough to be in an exciting division. Super-middleweight has some great fighters, so there are loads of great fights I can have in the future."
While Groves is looking forward to the challenge of taking on bigger names, with American Andre Dirrell being mooted as a possible future opponent, Smith has admitted he may move back down to middleweight after a third defeat in his 34-fight career.
Meanwhile, Groves' sparring partner Carl Froch can be backed at 3.00 to defeat Andre Ward on 18th December. Ward is available at 1.40 for the win.
