Amir Khan in action against Marcos Maidana.Amir Khan will defend his IBF and WBA lightwelterweight titles against Lamont Peterson in Washington on Saturday and Khan's promoter Oscar De La Hoya is well aware Peterson is a dangerous opponent.
De La Hoya, who won titles at six different weights in his own glittering career, believes Khan is the stronger of the two fighters but has warned the Bolton boxer not to take Peterson lightly.
"Lamont Peterson is a very dangerous fighter," explained De La Hoya.
"He had that draw with Victor Ortiz a year ago and then he went on and won the eliminator for the IBF title.
"He took (WBO and WBC lightwelterweight champion) Timothy Bradley the distance in his only defeat and he's hungry.
"We are looking at a dangerous Lamont Peterson with a record of 29-1 and 15 KOs. He has fought the best and on 10th December, Amir Khan will fight the best."
Khan is priced at 1.083 to secure the victory by any method and 1.61 to win by KO, TKO or DQ. Peterson is 8.00 to win by any method in front of his home crowd in Washington.
