Fremantle skipper Matthew Pavlich has expressed his joy at the way he and his comrades have adjusted to the style and tactics of new coach Ross Lyon.
New coach Ross Lyon has made an instant impact with Fremantle. On Friday, the Dockers will officially kick-off Lyon's era by playing an intra-club friendly match, which will be followed by their opening NAB Cup match in less than two weeks' time.
The main focus of Lyon's pre-season training campaign has been to improve the fitness levels of his troops that he has inherited from former coach Mark Harvey.
Apart from that, he has also introduced new plans and playing strategies, which will all be showcased when the Dockers take on Geelong Cats on 31st March in their opening match of the 2012 AFL season.
Pavlich, who is primarily a forward but is expected to be transformed into a midfielder by Lyon, said that he is happy with the results Lyon has so far achieved.
"We're really satisfied to this point that we've done a large amount of work to get us to a satisfactory level," Pavlich said.
"Now it's time to play games against opposition to really see where we're at. It's a demanding program that Ross has tried to implement.
"Each day we walk into the club on our toes, but I'm really impressed by the way he's approached this particular group and some of the really clear priorities that he has.
"I think to the guys' credit as well, they've really embraced Ross and the new coaches that we've had come to the club. I think you've seen a real appetite for work and a hunger for success."
The Dockers are 51.00 to win the AFL Grand Final this season, with Geelong 12.00 and Collingwood 6.50.
